FAQ
"What is Hatha yoga?"There is no mystery – hatha yoga is simply the physical aspect of yoga, or the yoga of activity –
the yoga that addresses both body & mind and is experiential. All yoga styles (vinyasa, power, yin, restorative)
are essentially hatha yoga with a specific focus....for example, vinyasa & power yoga is a continual, flowing style
of yoga where movements are closely integrated with the breath – this is how our classes begin at Tulaa Yoga. By the
time we settle down from our standing postures to our back-bending and seated, we may incorporate yin aspects – holding
our postures longer, with a focus on releasing muscles and working at our edge. In keeping with what has been handed down
for thousands of years, we simply choose to refer to it in a traditional sense - as “hatha”.
