Class Descriptions

Fundamentals
The Fundamentals class is recommended for beginner level students, or for existing students who wish to slow down, and deepen their focus on specific asana groups. Incorporated into class sequences, students are taught safe and appropriate alignment in key standing, seated, twisted, and back-bending postures. Also introduced are pranayama, bandhas, yoga philosophy, and meditation. Beginners are encouraged to attend 4-6 of these sessions before moving on to the all-levels Hatha & Vinyasa classes, and may join at any time; there is no need to pre-register, but please email if you have any questions before you begin.

Vinyasa
In Vinyasa style yoga, poses flow from one to another in synchronization with the breath. The body is warmed, strengthened, and energized with a flow of varied standing postures, often incorporated in the sun salutation sequence. We then begin to slow the pace and incorporate core strength postures, then balance the class with the deep stretch and release found in backbending and seated postures. These classes vary from day to day, and flow with our teachers' creativity and knowledge of sequencing. Linked to uplifting and/or meditative music, these classes leave both your body & mind relaxed and rejuvenated!
