Class Descriptions
Beginner’s Course
This 4-week course is for beginner students who have not studied yoga
elsewhere or students who may have not practiced for years and need a
solid foundation. You will be introduced to specific breath
techniques and a number of postures, working slowly to learn their
traditional forms and benefits. Pre-registration is required and
class size is limited so students receive more individual instruction.
Ashtanga - Primary Flow
This class is more energetic than our Hatha classes and is based upon the Ashtanga Primary Series. The Primary Series
is a consistent series of postures proven to enhance flexibility and strength. Although time does not allow the full
series to be practiced, the majority of the postures are included in this 1.5 hr session, as well as our standard closing
with guided, yoga relaxation.
Hatha - All Levels
Our Hatha classes focus on varied sequences, moving through a
wide range of postures with breath integration. These
classes incorporate specific practices traditionally taught to benefit the
awakening & energizing process, or the release & meditative
process. These are balanced and challenging classes for students
at all levels.
Mom & Baby
For parents or caregivers & babies ages 6 weeks to crawling. This class gives parents or caregivers a chance to get out and do some yoga
in an environment that welcomes their little ones! Focused on yoga for the adult, with baby-inclusive poses. Infant
massage techniques and baby poses help baby relax and relieve discomfort. This class provides a relaxing hour of yoga
and some special time to bond with baby!
Prenatal Yoga
This prenatal yoga class provides a gentle and safe way to exercise, feel better and relax during your pregnancy.
We focus on postures to help ease common pregnancy complaints such as sciatica and lower and upper back pain.
It's important for every woman to stay fit during her pregnancy, and prenatal yoga offers a safe way to
stretch and strengthen muscles that are taxed during pregnancy. This class will also provide you with mental relaxation
techniques that will aid in childbirth, and provide special time for you to bond with your soon-to-be little one!
No previous yoga experience is necessary, but please be sure to have your Doctor or Midwife's OK.
Vinyasa
In Vinyasa style yoga, poses flow from one to another in conjunction with the breath, often incorporated in the sun salutation
sequence. Jilian's Vinyasa style class follows an arc that begins and ends with the breath. To start, the body is warmed, strengthened,
and energized with a continuous flow of basic standing postures. With an emphasis on the core, proper alignment is practiced
in unique and varied sequences which end with restorative, cooling and relaxing postures. Each class should leave students' bodies and minds
relaxed and rejuvenated!
