Our Vision:
Our vision is to provide a welcoming space and community where you are supported in your exploration of yoga and wellness.
We respect & honor the roots of yoga, teaching a variety of practices that were traditionally taught to awaken or restore health, flexibility, and strength. Our belief and experience is that this balanced approach will help you to enrich all aspects of your life.
Tulaa Yoga Studio is not heated (>90°) for “hot” yoga.
Michele Hensey (co-owner), Member of HITA & IAYT
Michele believes deeply that yoga is beneficial to all, can be practiced by everyone, and is about exploring our individual possibilities. She encourages her students to begin and continue on their journey to wholeness, their discovery of a healthier body and mind, and to be enthused about their individual growth along this lifelong path.
Michele has been practicing and studying yoga for the past 13 years and began her teacher training in 2004.
She is currently 200-hour certified, and continuing to study for her 500-hour certification with HITA. Michele studied with Dr. Brian Cooper in Edinburgh, Scotland, whose teacher training program included intensives and
workshops with David Williams, Matthew Sweeney, Kausthub Desikachar and Paul Grilley. Michele has also attended numerous programs at the Himalayan Institute for both self-development and teacher training.

Jilian Jancuska
Jilian took her first yoga class after studying dance for 18 years. The yoga philosophy of acceptance was a
welcome change from strict ballet classes and now she believes yoga can breathe light, presence and well-being into the
minds and bodies of anyone, at any level, willing to give asana practice a try. She began her study of yoga at Syracuse
University and continued while working in New York City. It was during her work experience that she realized a desire to
deepen her yoga practice and journeyed to Guatemala for a Reflections Yoga Teacher Training. Under the direction of Paula
Tursi, she delved deeply into the anatomy and philosophy of yoga and teaches her class in a style aimed to quiet the mind and revitalize the body.
